Landfill Projects

Lycoming County Landfill

Meiser & Earl, Inc. completed geologic and hydrogeologic investigations for landfill permit and expansions in an area with glaciated terrain.  Prepared and updated sampling and analysis plans; reviewed quarterly monitoring data and provided summaries to the landfill; completed groundwater assessments; oversaw and evaluated water tightness testing for lined leachate storage tank; and conducted exploratory, water-supply, and monitoring well drilling and well decommissioning projects.

Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority

Meiser & Earl, Inc. completed an evaluation of groundwater flow directions and groundwater monitoring program for landfill underlain by coal seams and deep mines.  The site contains a municipal waste landfill section that is closed and a construction/demolition landfill section. Meiser & Earl, Inc. conducted soils investigation for a potential landfill expansion; completed quarterly data review and regulatory submittal of monitoring data; completed groundwater assessment to address arsenic levels in some monitoring points; conducted geologic and hydrogeologic investigations for landfill expansions; oversaw groundwater monitoring system updates with new monitoring well installations during site development; and completed quarterly data review and regulatory submittal of monitoring data.
